The Hex-A-Gone!™ gameboard consists of connected hexagons, trapezoids, rhombi, and squares, which students cover with pattern block shapes (triangles, two types of rhombi, trapezoids, squares, and hexagons). Students may use one or more blocks to fill a geometric region. For each turn, students choose one, two, or three pattern blocks in an attempt to be the last player to place a block on the board (the goal). A limited number of blocks in the bank and available spaces on the gameboard motivate students to carefully observe and analyze their options. A wide array of mathematical skills are enhanced by playing this game, including spatial visualization, estimation, measurement, fractions, and deductive and inductive thought.
The Hex-A-Gone! Complete Game Set is an exciting, hands-on Math Pentathlon® game that challenges students to think strategically while developing essential mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Players must carefully analyze the game board, anticipate future moves, and make thoughtful decisions as they compete to achieve the game's objective.
Designed to promote active learning, Hex-A-Gone! encourages students to recognize patterns, visualize relationships, and develop winning strategies through engaging game play. Every turn provides opportunities to strengthen logical thinking, spatial reasoning, and decision-making in a fun, interactive environment.
Ideal for classrooms, homeschool families, after-school enrichment programs, and Math Pentathlon® tournaments, the Hex-A-Gone! Complete Game Set offers everything needed to begin playing and learning right away.
